This series is entitled “Sea Stories”. There are four or five stories from my five years in the Navy that I think grandchildren may find interesting to read someday. So I will include them here on the Blog and later add them to the Storyworth book.
While I am at it, I am hopeful that some of my classmates will share some of their best stories as well. Who knows, we may decide to do a Storyworth book for Third Company Class of ’74. Robert Thome has sent one of his sea stories which I will post. Hopefully, other classmates will send me their stories that I can share.
Anyone who has a “sea story” they would like to share here, please email it to me at dtcre@bellsouth.net.
I have assigned alphanumeric numbering to the stories. “M” represents a story written by me. And “C” represents a story by one of my classmates. So “1-C” is the first story in the series by a Classmate (Robert Thome) and “2-M” is the 2nd story by me in the series.
Note: In doing the family stories, I went to great lengths to check with others to ensure that I got my facts as right as possible. On the Sea Stories, I am just going with what I remember. And if I got it wrong, so be it.
An adage I once heard: What is the difference in a Fairy Tale and a Sea Story. A Fairy Tale begins with “Once upon a time” and Sea Story begins with “And this is no s__t.”
